Ground Turkey Teriyaki Stir Fry

A delightful weeknight meal combining savory ground turkey with vibrant vegetables in a quick teriyaki sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (broccoli, bell peppers, snap peas, etc.)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • Cooked rice or noodles
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Teriyaki Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, orange zest, garlic, and ginger until well combined.
  2. Cook the Turkey: In a large skillet or wok, heat the skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground turkey. Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
  3. Add the Vegetables: Once the turkey is cooked, add the mixed vegetables to the skillet. Stir-fry everything together for another 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  4. Combine with Sauce: Pour the teriyaki sauce over the turkey and vegetables, stirring to coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Serve: Serve the stir fry hot over cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Feel free to use any vegetables you love or have on hand. You can substitute ground turkey with ground chicken or tofu for a vegetarian version.
