Spiced Apple Fritter Bread

A delightful blend of warm spices and sweet apples creates a comforting and moist bread, perfect for breakfast or as an afternoon snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan well.
  2. Mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium bowl until combined.
  3. Combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter in another bowl, then add the eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  4. Combine the dry mixture into the wet ingredients gradually, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the diced apples gently until evenly distributed.
  6. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  9. Prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and milk, then drizzle over the cooled bread.

Notes

For added flavor, nuts or raisins can be included. Ensure to use room temperature ingredients for better mixing.
